Wow! Huge huge weekend win for the rebs!

I am completely impressed with the rebels! They came into this series with alot of pressure on them and responded after giving the game away friday by winning the last 2. This series win will vault the rebels into the top 10 tommorrow morning. Uga gave it their best shot and the rebs took it and responded. We stay in the hunt for the west by winning this series since lsu swept auburn and arkansas won 2 of 3 in their series. This series was also huge because had we lost we would be tied with bama. The rebs have 3 winnable series coming up, 2 against the worst teams in the west and one final huge series against arkansas to possibly win the west if lsu slips up a few times. As it currently stands I think our 32-12 record is one of the best records weve had through the first 44 games of the season. Correct me if i'm wrong?

The club can not loose another series to lessor teams or this weekend could be wasted.

I am very impressed with them the way they came back and won the game on Sat. and then DOMINATED on Sunday. I think they did a damned good job. There is no reason they cannot win at least 7 out of the last 9 SEC games.

I agree with all. I think we'll take MSU handily, but again, they are MSU so anything can happen. And Auburn has been HOT at times this season so the series on the Plains could be more difficult than it seems on the surface.
IMHO, best case scenario for remaining SEC games, 7-2. Worst case, 5-4

Great weekend. The Saturday game was awesome. Fighting for that win, Power was clutch. Yesterday, Bittle had them guessing most of the game and Morgan came in and blew their doors off. 2 of 3 from the #1 team = great weekend.
Nutt calls the formation the Wild Rebel. Which sure beats the heck out of Orgeron's Wild Boys.

You're right, but on the hill as far as relievers go, I was more impressed with Goforth and I'll tell you why. Morgan has been pretty consistent this year in the closer role and his contribution should not be overlooked by any means. But Goforth came in and gave up the winning grand slam on Friday night, so you know he had to be at least a little shook. But he came back yesterday, give an inning of perfect relieve, and was able to redeem himself. It's a risky move putting him in that spot, but it was the perfect thing for him at the right time and I thought it was a great move by Bianco. Granted he pulled Goforth quick when he got behind the lead-off man in the 9th with a 2-0 count, but, if you'll notice, if a pitcher has a rough outing, Bianco runs him back out there pretty soon after for a chance to redeem himself and get the confidence back up. Great move and I was very impressed with the RS Freshman. He's going to be an amazing pitcher for us in the very near future. Anyone that's hitting 99 on a fastball is someone who can be dominate in college ball.Redbluedude wrote:Great weekend. The Saturday game was awesome. Fighting for that win, Power was clutch. I agree....and I like where this team is right now. If we take care of business over the next two weekends like we're supposed to, we will be in prime position for the final weekend vs. Arkie.oxfordrebel wrote:You're right, but on the hill as far as relievers go, I was more impressed with Goforth and I'll tell you why.
