trent rothlin, the sunday starter the first 3 weekends, has just come in to relieve today's starter, Crouse, so looks like he has been demoted to mid-week/relief.
BTW, Rebs up 7-1 going into 5th
appears Matt Tracy will start Sunday for the Rebels

Tracy has definitely shined in mid-week starts. Coach Bianco has had luck with moving these mid-weekers to Sunday's. He has competed and earned a start. Think back to E. Fowler....He started as a mid-week guy and worked his way into a heck of a #3 pitcher. Rothlin has shown promise and will be valuable in the pin. Looking forward to this weekend.

I am perfectly ok with the move and try to avoid questioning MB's moves when it comes to the pitching staff. As for Rothlin, he just hasn't shown enough control to warrant holding down the Sunday spot, especially in this instance when Tracy has shown the ability both in the mid-week starter role and out of the bullpen the last few weekends to command the strike zone with all his pitches. Louisville will be a different monster, but that is part of the game.Rebel PT2 wrote:Tracy has definitely shined in mid-week starts. ETA: plus with his apparent hitting ability, it gives you the choice of inserting him into the batting order and DH for another player, at lease while he is on the mound.

Question was asked of Chase Parham, who handles baseball for the OM Rivals site; he stated that Barbeck has had A LOT of issues with his control and is likely to get a RS year to work on the problem.Heath wrote:Wonder what happened to Kyle Barbeck. If i remember correctly, he became a pretty good pitcher last year. I figured he would be in a starter's role at some point this year.
