I stand by what I said, even though I was a bit drunk. I've rewatched the game and it looks to me as if we're regressing. I hope I'm wrong and Arkansas just played a hard fought game.

As for the bad calls. Look, two hands in the back of the defensive player is gonna get called every time.

And there was absolutely no CONCLUSIVE evidence to overturn that onside kick call. I'm not saying Arkansas didn't recover it, but there was not enough evidence to overturn the original call.

Now, do I think we can win any game left on our schedule? Yes. But we have to play a lot better than that.

On a side note, I have an old high school friend who is the equipment manager for Auburn. I may have lunch or dinner with him on Friday. I'll see if I can get the scoop on what's going on with Tubby.

Hey guys, don't give up on Snead yet. He's brand new to the SEC and he's learning Nutt's new offense. He'll be like night and day this time next year...

Look at the difference in Bama's QB from this time last year!

Maybe I need to ease up on the kid. I think expectations may have been too high to start.

All in all, Jevan has done pretty well. One thing I have noticed is that we don't have many pass plays with a short route or dump pass to a RB. Many times we only have 2 guys running a route. And we don't throw to the TE so defenses don't even worry or scheme to cover them.

He's tried to force a lot of passes, especially early in the year. He got away with a couple in the Memphis and Wake games and may have given him some false security.

The pass to Mike Wallace on 3rd down the other night was clutch and a thing of beauty. Hoping we'll see more of those in the future. Also, he's learning to tuck it and run at times. This will help freeze those LB's also.

We just have to keep out turnovers to a minimum and we'll be fine.
Nutt calls the formation the Wild Rebel. Which sure beats the heck out of Orgeron's Wild Boys.

I am not sure if we don't have those check off routes or if he just isn't looking beyond his primary target. He is tough as nails but he seems to hold onto the ball forever and always seems to be waiting for his focused route to open and when it doesn't he just eventually goes down, which may be making the O Line look like it is playing worse than it really is.

I would like to see Cook get more looks out of the backfield and more passes to the tight end (I think we did finally have one of those on Saturday)..

I don't doubt Snead's abilities...he has the talent. I just thought we would see a more linear progression in his improvement throughout the year....

having said that...we have won two out of three road games in the SEC...if we take our first home SEC win this weekend against Auburn, we will be ahead of where I realistically thought we would be nine games into the season...

I am still very excited!

Just checked the stats and we didn't have a TE catch the ball. We did run a play that suppose to go to Cook one time Sat. night but he was covered. I wouldn't mind if we'd roll Jevan out of the pocket every now and then, he's athletic enough. I thought we might could have bootlegged on the other night, their DE's were pinching in all night.

Also, throw it to Eason or Bolden every now and then, get them out in open space, they can both catch the ball.

Receiving stats from Sat. night.

Receiving No. Yds TD Long
-----------------------------------
Wallace,Mike 5 120 1 42
Hodge,Shay 4 47 1 15
Breaux,Lionel 3 23 0 13
McCluster,D. 2 19 0 10
Totals... 14 209 2 42
