I would have thought SC or Bama. Possibly even Arky considering their venue. But I'll settle for 3 with Ole Miss being one of them! 8)

My understanding is that the ACC got 4 hostings, so they may have gotten one of our spots, huh?

The selection committee has been accused in recent years for perceived favoritism toward the SEC. This year's lack of SEC host sites may possibly be over-correction. It will be interesting to see if they will go ahead and take the entire SECT field again this year as in the past few years. There are 8 solid regional teams in the SEC and, IMHO, I think UK and Auburn make good cases as well. That's 10 worthy SEC teams, but it's completely unrealistic to think that the committee would give out 10 bids to SEC teams and I completely understand. But it can't be easy for the committee because UK and Auburn (and probably TENN and State too) would destroy several of the team that will end up being 4 seeds in some of the regionals. The tournament system is designed to give everyone a fair shot at winning the championship; however the flaw of that system is that the field still has to be decided somehow when you can't include every single team. So you will always end up excluding superior teams while including inferior ones somewhere down the road. No matter what, that 65th team will have a valid argument why they should be in and someone else should be out.
GO REBELS!!!
I thought SC would grab a 4th as well.oxfordrebel wrote:I would have thought SC or Bama. Possibly even Arky considering their venue. But I'll settle for 3 with Ole Miss being one of them! 8)
I actually thought Ole Miss was still in the National Seed picture as of this morning, but I now feel that Rice winning the CUSA tourney will put them back on top in the eyes of the selection committee. You never know, though.
