slim - none. And Masoli will not stay and RS this year if it doesn't get overturned. He transferred so he could play immediately. If he can't do that, popular opinion holds that he'll opt for the CFL.

Don't hold your breath on this. This kid is EXTREMELY thankful for a shot to play for us. He LOVES this team and our school. He is not going anywhere. His parents are also extremely pleased with OM.

Put it this way. He was being courted by at least 5 other programs, most of which had scholies for him. He chose us. He chose HDN and he chose this team. He's not going anywhere.

NCAA is going to stand strong on this. Especially since we've kicked other players off the team, and now we are taking a kid that was kicked off of his. No chance

Perception, appearance, and posturing is everything.
L'Garrett Blount punches Boise State player so Oregon's HC needs to posture...Masoli mixed up in theft stuff and is cited for Marijuana in vehicle* Oregon, HC gets chance to posture in front of NCAA...Masoli goes to OM and the NCAA gets to posture how there is more to the NCAA than sports while also not offending their or ESPN's darlings Florida, Alabama, or LSU. BecAUSE Ole Miss was picked to finish deep in the the west so who cares.

*Oregon's current Qb was in the Marijuana car with Masoli, but the coach made his point with Masoli so he can let him go.

SO the real question is the NCAA done Posturing?

PS, The righteous NCAA shows how it cares about the integrity of the Student Atheletes while they make billions off of their serf players who have no access to income they directly generate.

I agree, the NCAA has been pimping 18-22 year olds for YEARS and the whole "Student Athlete" speech gets old. The NCAA points in a kids face with one hand, while reaching in fans pockets with their other hand. IMAGINE THE MONEY the NCAA will make if there is no NFL next year. We all know the NCAA is hypocritical, and that is why I think there is absolutely no chance this gets overturned.

To respond to the original post, we will not have Masoli next year in my opinion. If he doesn't get to play this year, then honestly, I don't want him next year.

If Stanley or Mackey starts this majority of this year, then one of them will be starting next year. There is no reason for Masoli to stick around. The chances of Masoli living in Oxford for a year without playing football while Stanley/Mackey gets the SEC experience he needs, all while staying in game shape, are remote at best are probably at zero.

The only possible scenario that I can see is if Stanley and Mackey are both so terrible, starting with J-State, that Masoli knows he'll be the starter next year. Then, he may have the motivation to stick around. I hope things don't get that bad.
