Two chances to beat the #2 ranked team in the nation and take the series. We didn't play all that well in any phase of the game but still won. If we win this series, we won't be under the radar any longer.

Rebels drop the 2nd game 4-0. Smith was excellent on the mound today, but the defense did not play well behind him. Offensively we couldn't get anything going. The kid they had pitching went the distance, and he was slinging it. Game 3 tomorrow at 1:30 for the series.

Yeah, the three errors made the difference. Without them, we still had a chance, although the McKay kid was unconscious.

Just giving us 3 errors was a VERY generous. We made around 6. Last night we got out hit 10-6, but their pitcher was unusally wild. If our bats don't come around, it's going to be a long season. Think our pitching will be very good, but our hitting looks like last year, really bad. Unless we see Fla. in the tourney, we won't see a better hitting team. Coming into our series, 8 of their 9 starters are batting over 300. They look like a World Series team. The pitcher we beat yesterday turned down a million dollar contract to come back for his senior year to win it all. Dan has an extremely good team.

Yeah they are a good hitting team, which just underscores how great our pitching has been in these first 2 games. Smith was unbelievable good today. They also have one of the best 3 starting rotations we will see this year, so don't give up on the bats just yet. Got a good chance to take a series from #2 tomorrow. That's not a bad spot to be in.

First 1000 Reb fans at game today get a hat. Missed our victory Friday night, but went yesterday and going today. The pretty weather is too nice to not go. And being just an hours drive, perfect. Nice crowds this weekend with the weather being perfect. Hope our hitting, especially the bottom half of our lineup, starts hitting. We have the pitchers to be very good, but if our hitters don't hit, well....

Rebels up 3-2 after 3 innings. 7,8,9 hitters started off the 3rd with 3 straight hits to get things started. Let's keep it up boys!

And oh yeah...the powder blues reappeared today. And Louisville is wearing some typical Adidas garbage today.

All five baseball polls will take notice, as they should. Louisville scored at least 10 runs and up in all of their previous games before our series. They scored 11 runs in the three games with us. Our pitching had a lot to do with it. And their pitching had a lot to do with Saturday's loss. Only real negative I saw this weekend was the sloppy fielding. Clean that up, and we'll be fine. This could be one of Bianco's best teams. But we are no longer under the radar. BTW, it's worth repeating: we do NOT have to play Florida and Vandy this year in the regular season.

Great start to the early season. While I came into this season VERY optimistic, I'm impressed(other than the errors) with this team, especially pitching. Like others stated, Louisville can hit. I'm not ready to call this one of Bianco's best, still very early, but hopefully they build off of this and keep it going.

Love the baby blues, hope the basketball team gets them. Louisville's unis were alright I guess, but not like ours. Today was a big victory. If our hitting can continue like today, and the defense straighten out, we can be a really good team. Bottom of the lineup really stepped up today. We have the arms with plenty of depth to have a special year. I think we have 3 very good starters and 6 arms u can count on in the pen. On another board a poster said he talked to a scout today that said Louisville is probably the best team in the country with 5 potential 1rst round draft picks. If our hitting and defense can produce, we can play with anyone in the country. Dan joined Mike at the Bullpen Club meeting this past Thursday night, and credited Mike for his career. After the meeting, Dan and family were having dinner at Mike's house with his family. On a side note, there will be no spring football game this year. And back to baseball, DO NOT LOSE TO TIGER HIGH THIS WEDNESDAY.........

Ole Miss is now at #4 in RPI according to Warren Nolan.
